SYNOPSIS:  On the American frontier, a community learns a lesson in cooperation.  A traveler comes through who helps them realize that by combining their resources, they are all better off.

SETTING:  A rustic village set with six small houses, a shade tree, a well and/or haystack (optional).  Two interestingly shaped stones should be preset on the “path” near the tree for the Traveler to stumble over.

Properties  -  Two unusual stones each about softball-size, sticks for “pretend fire,” a large kettle, salt and pepper
shakers, a *cabbage, two carrots, one onion, three small potatoes, nine (or enough for the cast or they can
share) *soupbowls and spoons, one ladle, a small table cloth, a leather satchel, a polka-dotted handkerchief or
brightly colored bandana for the Traveler.

*Plastic toy kitchenware works very well.

Costumes - Colorful peasant attire: Pioneer dresses or peasant skirts, aprons, sunbonnets, cowboy hats, jeans or
corduroy pants, solid or plaid shirts, bandanas, vests, soft ballet flats, cowboy boots, etc.
