Songs from The Frog Prince

The songs and dances in The Frog Prince are meant to reflect the instruments and styles of music from the European Renaissance.  Lute, harp, trumpets, recorder, clarinet and bassoon are featured to help flavor the retelling of this Grimm's Fairytale.

During the show, 2 Heralds play trumpets.  Their entourage could include other instrumentalists such as three Pages pretending to play lute (or guitar), recorder, and hand drums. These players could also come on during the Finale to reprise their playing in Scene 1.

Two trusted players could also follow the Knights around when they are riding stick ponies to provide the Gallop sounds.  (See the scene in "Monty Python"  where the Squire plays the coconuts as he follows the Knight while they each gallop pretend horses.)

The magical "poof" sound could also be played live on a gong, cymbal, rainstick, wind chimes, or triangle.
