In Stone Soup, our characters live in a small Old Western village where they were being selfish and not reaching out to help each other or work together. A Traveler comes along needing a little help, perhaps supper and a place to stay for the night. No one in the town is willing to help him. After knocking on all of the doors, he thinks it is curious that no one has enough food to spare or to share. So he comes up with a plan.
He calls everyone out saying that he has a magic stone that will make soup enough for everyone to share. Sure, at first it seems that he is manipulating what he has learned about the villagers. But really, he teaches them a lesson in COOPERATION.
Where at first the villagers had real TROUBLE, they learn that working together helps one and all. It can make the hardest jobs seem quite small.
One of the girls keeps saying that she wishes the Theater camp could go on all day. She has so much fun!
